Boredom and Exhilaration

So my holidays have officially begun. Under normal circumstances i would be ecstatic, but such, unfortunately, is not the case this time. Didn't go to college for 4 days last week and nearly lost my mind due to sheer boredom. So much so that i actually dragged my mum to go see Dhamaal with me.

Incidentally, it is a horrible horrible movie. Please do not ever watch it, not even if you were bored out of your mind. Count the number of strands of hair on your head if you will, but do not under any circumstances go watch Dhamaal. How can people make such awful movies? Do they not go stark raving crazy while they're at it? Oh well.......

Anyway, didn't mean to digress. My point is, if i got so highly bored in four days, what's gonna happen to me during the 15-day long autumn break? The thought's worrying me already. Worst part is, i'll have to get some *shudder* studying done now. Have studied nothing so far this year, and the 1st term is already over.

Also, what with me having now joined IMS, i'll have to do a little bit of studying for that at least. Heaven knows why i've joined IMS. An MBA seemed like the logical thing to do, but now i'm not so sure. Do i really want to do an MBA? And if i do, do i have the drive needed to crack, if not CAT, some reasonably good MBA exam? Oh well, it's too late to ask these questions now. I've committed myself, and now i've got to deal with it.

About my birthday, got lots of lovely presents, including 6 grand from my parents. Rich, i am. :-D

Durga Puja's coming up! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I love Durga Puja, not just because of the food (though that is a major reason) or the meeting-up-with-friends or the staying-up-all-night-4-nights-in-a-row but just because it makes me happy. Wonderfully, inexplicably happy. I walk around with a big grin on my face for about a month before it begins. No clue why. :-D

I've wondered why it makes me feel so cheerful, but i've never been able to satisfactorily explain it. There's something about the festival that is exhilarating. Something in the air i guess. Something almost intoxicating.

Jeez realize that the previous lines sounded awfully cliched so i'm gonna stop now.

Until next time, goodbye, and if you're in DU, enjoy your holidays, and if you're not well then, bad luck my friend. :-p

P.S. - This is my 75th post. Platinum jubilee did someone say? *champagne bottles are popped and confetti is showered from the skies*

well, you dont really need to worry about your drive regarding the cat paper now, do u? as far as i remember, your teacher said you dont need to work that hard, or even be smart, for that matter. so it should be right up your alley.

You are so lucky, make hay while the sun shines and enjoy your vacations because once you get into the job scene, you'll want college back!! :)
Yeh, movies like Dhamaal suck, dunno how people can stand dumb comedy. Btw, try watching Dil Dosti etc. (without your parents), its based on the book Catcher in the Rye and though the movie is a little screwed up, I somehow loved it.. Will be putting up a blog on it soon!! ;)
Have fun at Durga Puja!! :)

15 day break! oh how i would kill for that... not that sitting at home and doing nothing (or studying) is a better thing.. but travelling exhausts me!

Dhamaal was ok. Infact it is a scene to scene copy of a very, very old Hollywood film called "It's a mad mad MAD world!"
Obv there is an Indian Touch to it.. but anyhoo, enjoy ur vacations.. :D
lemme know how IMS is.. i'm planning to join it too next yr

Oh at least you have vacations, I'm dealing with exams, sigh.
And if MBA does seem to be the logical thing to go for - then guess you should stick to it. Or take a good one week and give it some nice detailed thought... and then stick to the decision. I'm emphasising on the 'stick to it' part so much 'cause the wavering-before-the-exam-and-then-feeling-you-wasted-your-time thing happens too often.

And 6 grand - lucky woman!

Good luck with the CAT prep. And enjoy your hols :)
