Unintended Sabbatical

O-kayyyyyyyyyy, so the reason i haven't blogged in a ve-ery long time is because
  1. I wasn't in town for about eight days. Had gone to ooty. Absolutely lovely place, had a nice lazy family vacation. Nearly wept when the pilot told us it's 47 degrees in Delhi.
  2. My net was on the blink till today. Almost went nuts, honestly.

Well that's that, and well, i'm back. About a month of hols left. Looking forward to college, but sure as hell not looking forward to the results. Unfortuntely the two seem to go hand in hand. Stupid technicalities.

Started reading this brilliant book yesterday, Kiterunner, and haven't been able to put it down. It's absolutely amazing. And now that i mention it, it's lying in front of me and practically calling out to me.

So what i'm gonna do is, i'm gonna cut this post short, and i'm gonna go read Kiterunner, and i'm gonna write a proper post next time round. What you can do is, you can take a look here. SO WHAT if you couldn't go to Bangalore???? All hail youtube! Who needs a live concert when you've got Aerosmith singing for you right on your computer screens.

*tries to believe what she's just written is in fact completely true but fails miserably. regrets being a delhiite for the very first time in her life (no wait, what about the roger waters gig? and the rolling stones? and iron maide......oh what the helllllllllll) and bangs her head against the screen*

Goodbye all, i have a rendezvous with the Kiterunner.

hi! yeah, i planned to buy that book yesterday..alongwith isaac asimov's foundation, amithabh bagchi's above average and joseph heller's catch-22. but i also wanted to very desperately buy a lonely planet guide to europe (MRP Rs. 1200) My dad said something along the lines of "I'm still sane". Meaning I only got the lonely planet. Man, I hate not buying books! Anyways, come on, DELHI IS THE BEST! Don't judge a city by the concerts it hosts... hahaha.. Thats no consolation, but....ummm,,, yeah thats no consolation. And if only I could go on like this on my blog rather than in the comments section of somebody else's.. but thats called wishful thinking. just to end, I'm a book-crazy person and so are you so you wont think I'm off my rockers when I say this.. It's "The Kite Runner". ;)

Tell me about not having an internet connection. As far as concerts go- Iron Maiden, Shakira, Aerosmith, the whole of Desert Rock, Russel Peters-- they all came to Dubai and how many did I go to? NIL

Kite Runner- Nice Book

Oh, nice to see you back

@ you-know-who aka siddharth (lol) - okay, so now i know you've already bought that godawful book 'above average' so no point asking you not to. and i know exactly what you're talking about when you exclaim "man, i hate not buying books". and yeah, delhi is brilliant. momentary lapse of reason. and hahaha you're the kiterunner eh??? :-p

@ count sahaj - not so much finances as unaccomodating parnts. :-p

@ bored blogger - anisha you KNOW i've become a little chubby.

@ aditya - why not?????? talk about wasted opportunities.

@ everything burns -

I'm so glad to have been away from Delhi during the crazy 48 degree Celsius days. Was in Mumbai the past one month, probably the best time to have fled Delhi. Ooty, nice! A friend went there recently and shared some magnificent pics, I was sooo floored by the place. Pics please.

And The Kite Runner is BRILLIANT. I cried at so many points in the book! (yeah, I'm that sort) And I recently gifted Hosseini's new book to someone. Now I'm just waiting for them to finish reading it so that I can borrow it, that being the whole point of gifting books :D

Uhhh and don't even get me started on Delhi and the pathetic absence of all the best live acts in the city... ughh!!

Happy reading. Do cry at least once, somewhere! :)

MeMyself_n_I said...

@ amiya - man, lucky you. it's been absolutely awful in delhi.

and yes, i *whispers* cried too. Isn't it absolutely brillaint??

Btw, your blog is dyinggggggg
